How It Started & How It’s Going
The love for resumes started for me back in 2009 when I started as an employment specialist. In the beginning, they give us free resume courses to help assist customers. When I went to my first class and took the resume course, I said my resume was horrible, so I recreated it to be more professional.
Customers started coming in to see me for a resume critique at my office. I offered to revamp their resume to be more professional. The more people got placed with jobs, the better I became. Management started asking me to edit resumes that were a little more challenging, so when I became the go-to resume person, I knew I was on to something. I started designing resumes and getting people placed. It made me feel accomplished, not necessarily for me, but for the clients knowing I was helping a custom and helping a family and a community.

The more training I went to, the better I became. I may not have 1,000 people following me on social media, but it doesn’t take away my skills as a resume expert. I conducted Resumes, Cover Letters, Job Search, and Interviewing Skills workshops. My success has always been the success of my customers because when they are successful, then I am successful.
My experience sets me apart; I have been on both ends of the spectrum.
